Lea Michele: Thoughts of a Man

Normally I don’t like to talk about women in the spotlight. It’s not that stars bore me, it’s just when every other person out there is writing about something, I don’t care to join them.

I like to make my own path.

But…Rachel Berry,

(played by Lea Michele on Glee!)

has the kind of voice that deserves my recognition.

Granted I’ve always had a liking for certain Jewish women. Never really could explain it. My grandmother was Jewish and thrown out by her family for marrying a Catholic, and I didn’t see how that has anything to do with it until I read her bio. She fits the same characteristics of my last girlfriend, named Rachel of course, from New Jersey. Big surprise huh? I guess it’s the half Spanish(Jewish) half Italian mix that does it for me.

But aside from her looks or my preferences I can’t help to be drawn in by her amazing voice.

Pure, resounding, unwavering, and without a doubt it sends shivers up my spine when she hits those notes with perfect inflections.

Looks aside, sure she has them but I don’t think a picture, moving or not, has the ability to truly attract me. I need more.

I need a personality to go along with it.

I need to be aurally simulated to really trigger that instinctual emotion.

Up until a few years ago, music was my life. It started around the age of five plugging away “Oh When the Saints” on my aunt’s organ by following the right numbers and colors. Well that seemingly innocent beginnings would send my life in a direction no five year old could ever predict. Even through my twenties I would practice up to thirty hours a week.

I wasn’t the geek in my school. In fact I was pretty much liked by everyone but I was president of the band for a while. Always joined choir, and tried out for advanced roles which I always got. It was a very small school. :) I even entered college as a Music Major.

It only stands to reason that when I hear music I hear more than the not so inclined musically people do. And for that reason I’ve always been very critical, not only of myself, but of others also.

And it is for those reasons I explained in my short life story on music, is why I have felt compelled to not only compliment on, but applaud, yes, applaud,  the voice of Lea Michele.

Sure this is a site on dating and relationships. You may not be seeing the connection here but I clearly do see it in my head.

Attracting men! I’m a man. She attracts me and there is no doubt of that in my mind I would enjoy finding out if she really is worth my time, or should she be left to be admired and listened to only. Eyes shut, I will admit it, her voice is sexy. It’s a turn on. It’s part of the reason why I enjoy listening to her. It’s not the whole reason because the musician in it me hears all the notes.

The musician in me is looking for an artful and emotional performance. And on television and with a few takes I get to hear only her best performances.

Thank you, Lea Michele, for not only inspiring me to write about you, but for setting up your life to allow me and everyone to hear your voice. It certainly deserves recognition, it definitely kicks ass.

Feel free to call me sometime. Who knows, I might just answer.
